We have some exciting news! We're offering two free tickets to Rilo Kiley's Thursday night performance at Concourse at SF Design Center. Now, here's some even more exciting news: Kanye West and Rihanna will be performing at the HP Pavilion on Saturday night. With Rihanna's summer blockbuster hit, "Umbrella," she finally created a "Hit Me Baby, One More Time." Instead of the standard sexy school-girl outfit, Rihanna dawned on two outfits: black leather and the contrasting white cotton. It's hot. It's fierce. It's damn sexy. She's even been called, "The next Britney Spears." (We're assuming that they're referring to Ms. Spears when she was actually a "pop princess" and not as she currently is: a hot mess.) It's fine with us. We just want to see if she can really deliver a performance where she actually sings and dances at the same time.

Now, let's talk about the "real" music that is happening throughout the week. Tonight Red Devil Lounge delivers The Paper Sons, one of our favorite local bands. Tuesday, Sara Watkins of Nickel Creek will be performing solo at Great American Music Hall with Tift Merritt. We've always loved Sara but are very curious to see how her solo career will turn out. We definitely think she's talented, but is she star/solo material? We'll just have to wait and see. We predict: no.
Rilo Kiley, pictured above, is an indie-rock band from Los Angeles. We really hope you are already familiar with this band because we love them. Rilo Kiley features Jenny Lewis on the vocals (Lewis sang backup on Ben Gibbard's indie-electronic side project, The Postal Service) and Blake Sennett on the guitars. Their newest album, "Under the Black Light" received a solid four out of five stars by Rolling Stones and their off to Coachella later this summer. Win a spot on Rilo Kiley's guest list (with a +1), by entering below; you'll find out Wednesday morning if you win.
If you don't win tickets to Rilo Kiley, then head over to Bottom of the Hill where The Bay Bridged and Playing In Fog co-present The Ian Fays' CD release party on Thursday night. The Bay Bridged says, "...their newest work places the band’s signature heartfelt and intimate storytelling into a more mature musical framework." We're looking forward to hearing songs of their new record, "Dylan’s Lost Days."

Is all this Rihanna love an attempt to get on my good side?
Well-played, Sir.
I'm so glad you noticed! ;)
Nice "Sharon Stone" the girl in Rilo Kelly is doing in that shot....
@greggers:
I totally thought the same thing! But, it's their "press" picture, so apparently she doesn't mind....
And that other dude still has the price tag on his shoes. Was the stylist taking a fag break?
