It's Been 17 Years
Do you remember what happened October 1st, 1991 at the Oakland Coliseum? It was George Michael's last concert in the Bay Area. It has been 17 years since the Bay Area last hosted the international pop star! Not much has changed: back then we were amidst the Gulf War and Clinton was seeking the Democratic nomination. Sound familiar? Very.
George Michael will be bringing his smash 25 LIVE tour to North American Arenas in the summer of 2008, including a local show at the HP Pavilion in San Jose on June 19th, in support of his new retrospective record. Michael, 44, has enjoyed 25 years in the music industry, starting back in 1981 with the duo, Wham! By 1987, he reached enormous success, when he released Faith, his first solo album. He sold over ten million copies and it has been coined, "one of the greatest albums of all time." Who doesn't love a little "Faith"?
Tickets to the 25 LIVE tour at the HP Pavilion will go on sale to the general public on Monday, April 7th at 10am at www.livenation.com.
In other semi-related music news, have you heard Madonna's new song, "4 Minutes" featuring Justin Timberlake? We are in love - in a very superficial kind of way!

Oh. My. God.
I'm so excited I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
This post is just about as hipster as the Bustedtees ad's.
i guess it took me 17 years (and moving to san francisco) to finally understand what they really meant by "make it big".
wow, apparently i'm obliviously dumb.
I AM SO EXCITED.
So who's coughing up the 175.50 plus the service charges to see this show?
I wonder how much he charged 17 years ago?
is it lame to still hold out hope for a Wham! reunion? because I would SO be there. i would be hella excited. HELLA.
