Quentin Tarantino Drinks Up at Zeitgeist
Imagine how surprised we were when, while drowning our sorrows drinking at Zeitgeist this past Saturday, we were informed that Quentin Tarantino was amidst our biker bar presence. Yes, the Royale with Cheese himself was there, taking up a corner of the bar, sweating and drinking away the night.
We were first told of QT's presence while in line for the bathroom (yeah, there's no way we're using those porta-potties). There were musings among those waiting to pee as to whether a drunken reenactment of scenes from Pulp Fiction was in order or if someone should walk up and tell Tarantino that Kill Bill 2 "really sucked." We're not sure if either transpired, as most at our table were trying to play it cool and not act like the big group of fanboys and fangirls that we were. We did note that while he was inside, he seemed quite popular with the ladies.
Tarantino seemed nice enough, although very very sweaty for a cold SF night. SF Weekly has their own take on the celeb spotting here with pics. Alas, we decided to leave our camera at home since we know how pictures taken while drinking can be unflattering/incriminating. Ahem.

You think he could afford a better haircut?
"....although very very sweaty for a cold SF night."
we know his pain all too well.
he was at your fav bar the comLEXington too.
They mentioned that several of the trailers used at the Peter Bogdanovich films this past weekend at the Castro were from QT's personal collection.
The Castro also showed Rolling Thunder last Tuesday night, which QT showed at the 2001 QT fest in Austin on Revenge Night (Kill Bill and Death Proof both owe a lot to Rolling Thunder, but it's no secret that it is one of QT's favorite movies). I wondered if they were showing his print of Rolling Thunder, but the print was SO clean that I don't think it would be one of his copies (I recall his having a little more loving grit on it).

Plus, cameras make Zeitgeist very, very cranky sometimes.

I saw him there yesterday. Either he was making a weekend of it or you've got the date wrong.
Also saw some Marina types try to take pics only to be swatted in the manner one expects from the Zeitgeist bar staff.
Did he ride his fixie in? Did he get a get a tamale from Virginia? What kind? Was he doing shots or going with pints of Guinness? Did he bag any Marina girls? Did he bag any Mission girls? Do tell!
So, is his ego as big in person as it seems on tv? Do tell.
I'm in Pittsburgh for work and was at a tiny dive bar last night when Seth Rogan walked in (apparently he's filing a movie here). Way more exciting than QT, at least to me! I also played it cool, but I did get to say "excuse me" as I edged past him out the door. WOO!
Zeitgeist bar staff crack me up.
and the grumpy cooks are even better!
Definitely asked him for a picture and sat on his lap. Like santa. Awesome.
