And honk they did. Yesterday a worldwide Scientology protest took place by "Anonymous" (AKA Project Chanology, an Internet-based protest against the Church of Scientology), and we caught a few images of the action on our rickety, old cellular communication device. Had we had a better camera, we could've gotten images of the police surrounding the Scientology building entrance; the tour guide telling his gaggle of tourists that John Travolta was, in fact, inside the Montgomery Street building (he was not), and more. Alas.
Anyway, it was a most spirited and youthful protest, one that stuck close to its agenda without branching off into "Free Mumia"-like mini protests. We had a surprising amount of fun watching these kids protest the Church of Scientology.
Check out LAist's, Austinist's, DCist's, and Torontoist's coverage. For more images of San Francisco's protest, follow the jump.

A lot of people were wearing these V for Vendetta-ish masks. Spooky.

Protesters bowed before this reptilian character.

Good for them.
These Scientologists are thugs.
Raptor Jesus!!! LULZ
I love how they draw people in with their "stress test" BS in public places.
Maybe we are all wrong to doubt them. If the giant flying saucer they are waiting for does come, we're doomed.
Where can I get my test?
Here's a bit of video we shot of the mayhem.

Pick your battles. So far Scientology has been responsible for way less damage, mayhem and brainwashed people than any other major religion... I worry a lot more about the Christian Right than about Scientology.
pyramidfags?
Seems like a strange way to spend your Sunday. BTW, I highly recommend ekai's link -- the woman doing the interviewing has some lovely cans, or "aliens" as she calls them.
4chan is a crazy, crazy place.
The London protesters Rickroll'd and Belair'd the Scientologists. So much win.
I’ve read several of the articles regarding the recent protests against Scientology by the group calling itself “Anonymous”. I’m the first to acknowledge that this is America and that means anyone has the right to protest anything they want. That being said, I do take offense at the media’s skewed coverage of these protests. Particularly that they are calling this protest group “Internet activists” rather than calling them what they actually are, a Hate Group.
I witnessed one of these recent protests; the protestors were carrying signs stating “we hate Scientology” and were chanting to motorists “honk if you hate Scientology”. I wonder if the media would cover these protests differently if the Hate Group Anonymous were inciting hate toward Christianity or Judaism. I wonder if the hate groups known for their Nazi sympathies got similar coverage in Germany during the 30’s and 40’s?
I happen to be a Jew and a Scientologist. Let the Hate Groups protest, but please recognize them for what they really are – advocates of ignorance, intolerance and immorality.

Then you are worshiping a FALSE IDOL. AKA scientology tech. You can't be a Scientologist and anything else. The CO$ lied to you. The aim is to audit that out of you.
And what about L. Ron's comments on Jews, Christians, and Muslums? You have not read them because the RTC won't let you. Go talk to a rabbi, you really need to. Your life, well being and soul depend on it.

BAAAAWWWWWWW!!!! Poor Scientologists. You're right, your situation is much like that of the Jews in Germany under Hitler. Oh yes. BAAAAWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What is wrong with the Church of Scientology?
* Breaking family through its doctrine of "disconnection"
* Doctrine of "destroying utterly" what it perceives as opposition to Scientology, through its "dead agent", and "fair game" policies
* Long track record of false imprisonment against its own members
* Fanatical, irrational, (and outright creepy) anti-psychiatry doctrine
* Doctrine of hard sell with no regards to the financial well-being of people
* Doctrine of infiltration to gain leverage to spread its own worldview, and to shield against accountability
* Condoning lying to protect and further Scientology goals
* Attack on free speech, in order to keep people uninformed
* A worthless "Personality test" deceptively used for recruitment purpose
* Practicing medicine without a license, while deceptively describing itself as a science that can cure disease, physical illnesses
* Forcing its members to go through mental and physical duress through the "Rehabilitation Project Force" punishment gulag in order to coerce them to comply to Scientology doctrine
* "Suppressive Person" doctrine promoting hate and intolerance
* Abusive treatment of children
* Its track record of using blackmail to prevent its own members from leaving, speaking out
* Track record of destroying evidences to escape full accountability
