The search for Mill Valley resident, 25-year-old Veronica Ruiz, was called off today by police. She had been reported missing since Monday night after she reportedly went on a hike in the Mount Tamalpais area. Over 100 police and civilians had been looking for her since Tuesday morning. That is, until the hunt for her was called off today.
Described as "despondent" since a recent break-up, according to NBC 11, Ruiz is "of Asian descent with black hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 115 pounds."
If you have information as to her whereabouts, please contact Mill Valley police Detective Sargent G. Dean Loutas at 415-389-4100.
(Aw, even Spotswood has a touching bit on Ruiz as well. Sigh.)

so sad. i'm guessing she's filipino? what's the back story on this? why did her man show her the door?
If anyone is able to, we'd appreciate a hand looking for Veronica. There are volunteer search operations happening this weekend, even though authorities have quit.
She's a local girl -- alumni of El Camino High School in South S.F. and UC Berkeley.
