SFist Photo: Mint Plaza Now Open for Business
Mayor Gavin Newsom and Supervisor Chris Daly, the yin and yang of San Francisco politics, were both on hand yesterday to inaugurate Mint Plaza, nee the 400 block of Jessie
Is our new plaza an oasis? Some people think so.
Check out the action (179 photos! Blonde real estate cookies!), after the jump.

So, what's Mint Plaza? The answer is here. Supervisors Aaron Peskin and Chris Daly both worked hard to get this thing off of the ground. Will it pan out? Only time will tell.
Read all about it from CurbedSF. They occupy the field of Mint Plaza coverage
How about 179 photos of the sparkling wine-fueled affair somebody put up on the Flickr? Already. Is that enough for you? Enjoy.
If you lived here, you'd be home by now. Can't imagine anybody already living in San Francisco wanting to move in, but it's possible.

Enjoy your new plaza!

horray! a new place for the homeless to bed down.
(bonus, everything is concrete, so it can be easily hosed off)
What, no fountain??? Where are the bums supposed to bathe and crap?
I bet those cute Bryant Park style movable chairs are gone within two weeks.
Nice plaza though.
Good thing it's privately managed. The city of SF can't take care of its public spaces anymore. Maybe having a guard patrol the place is the only way to keep it from turning into another open-air urinal.
There were a few homeless guys swigging some of the free wine, but overall it all panned out as expected.
One nice thing: if Mint Plaza fails, it will pave over realy nice and we'll have this part of Jessie back again.
The orange chairs were there about a week ago. I guess there were there for looking at.
