Payback's A Whiny Brat
With Chris Daly focusing on the birth of his second child (congrats, Chris and Sarah!), SF Board of Supes prez Aaron Peskin has manfully taken over the essential city function of provoking District 2's Michela Alioto-Pier: today's Matier and Ross column has MAP running crying to City Attorney Dennis Herrera and DA Kamala Harris about Aaron Peskin telling her "payback's a bitch" when she asked why he'd changed his vote on her proposed charter amendment proposal and killed it in committee.
Boo hoo hoo, now MAP won't be able to set qualifications for appointees to the city's Ethics, Elections and Sunshine commissions! MAP claims the supposed payback is because she supported a no vote on Prop A (in vain, since Prop A is currently winning with 55% of the vote). So now, with tacit endorsement by Big Daddy Newsom, MAP is asking someone to look into whether Peskin's response to her is some kind of an ethical violation. Okay, sure, if that's how you're going to play it, MAP, we get why you wrote City Attorney Dennis Herrera a letter about it, but -- why also cc: DA Kamala Harris? Do you want Peskin criminally charged for this? Doesn't Kamala have enough to do, prosecuting your buddy Ed Jew?
Anyhow, Peskin remains unrepentent, telling the Chron that MAP has always been beholden to downtown interests, and adding: "She's a whiny brat, and she has been a whiny brat ever since she arrived at the Board of Supervisors." As to allegations that Newsom's already asked people to look into whether Peskin is threatening people for votes, Peskin claimed he didn't know anything about it. That seemed a good enough response for M&R, who then seamlessly segued their column into a discussion of beavers.

It's official. I
Alioto-Pier is the most worthless person on the BOP. Seriously, does she do anything of value?
Don't know why the above post was cut off, but the first sentence was I love Aaron Peskin.
Bluecanary,
You post was edited by the NSA in that secret room AT&T has on Folsom street.
LOL at being called out as a whiny brat on the front page of the Chron. That's gotta hurt.
And the downtown types commenting at SFgate are blowing gaskets left and right. God forbid a politician uses GASP politics to go after their agenda.
"She's a whiny brat, and she has been a whiny brat ever since she arrived at the Board of Supervisors."
But the question is Would you hit it?
First Daly, now Peskin -- it seems we have a pattern of MAP complaining and playing the victim in verbal encounters.
I'm glad someone calls it like it is. MAP IS the most useless seat warmer on the BOS. And as Peskin isn't seen as a lunatic like Daly, his calling her out actually has some bite.
Good for him. He should have run for Mayor.
MAP so got pwned! Check & mate.
I'm really looking forward to a Peskin campaign in 2012. We've never really had a skilled progressive brawler in the mayor's office before.
i'm so tired of the label 'downtown' for anyone that opposes the progressives. can they please come up with some other name for people that pay taxes and employ other san franciscans around here? not every one of them is downtown you fucktards!
MAP got doubly pwned; any bill with her and "ethics" in it is code for ego-salving from her witless battle with Daly. Peskin has committed recursive pwnage.
So after four years in office, all MAP has to show for her time is pushing through a proposition that allows her to phone in to BOS meetings from her primary residence in St. Helena and her continuing efforts to get dirty words banned from BOS meetings.
If she wasn't in a wheelchair, she'd be done by now. I will give Newsom that much, he needed a do-nothing yes-man (or yes-woman) to replace his seat when he became Mayor and he somehow went out and found himself a crippled yes-mommy. And he only had to search as far as Napa to find her.
ChinaNob said what I couldn't as delicately.
Peskin's a simple Carpet Bagger , he'll screw up the city and then move on , and leave us to deal with bad policy, See what ego does to someone who should have never had an ego in the first place. I agree "DOWNTOWN" pays for all the worthless trash in this city.
well "downtown" pays for stuff. Gets a lot of stuff. The rest of us pay for stuff via sales taxes, property taxes and the like and get some stuff back. So I don't really understand your point, spysea, unless you're some sort of copratist. We can have a responsible tax code and apprporiation without being beholden to corporations who could leave the city tomorrow. MAP's once sided policies do have repercussions and they should be considered.
But yeah, I'd definitely hit that.
But she was elected to her position. There are people in this city who do believe the way she does. Wasn't Newsom just re-elected.
Maybe citizens need to think of ballot initiative ideas now to limit the number of St. Helena and other residents who can sit on our City's Board of Supervisors (not leave a gray area). With such a low hurdle to get stuff on the ballot courtesy the low Mayoral election turnout, I expect everything including the kitchen sink to be on the 2008 ballot - I sure hope the voting machines are certified to be used then.
JJ - Yes, I am sure there are people who believe as MAP does. The trick for the rest of us is to keep them from migrating out of the Marina.
so if MAP lives in St. Helena, why hasn't this come out - and get into the courts - during the ed jew case???
Come on, we all know that stature challenged (physical, mental, and emotional) Peskin has finally found someone he can feel superior to. A woman in a wheelchair. Really, is that all he could come up with? Payback's a bitch? I'm sure it still doesn't salve all that mental anguish caused by those big bullies in high school. Come on Aaron, grow up.
Eh, most of them seem to be whiny little brats to some extent, though MAP and Daly seem to excel at acting like annoying child stereotypes - MAP is the tattletale/teacher's pet/goody-two-shoes, while Daly is the one pitching a fit and screaming "no fair" if his juice is just slightly less full than MAP's.
if you think district six's "juice" is "slightly less full" than the marina's I shudder to ask you how the war on terror is going.
MAP is clearly a team player/mouthpiece. We can't expect too much, we don't get too much, and I don't mind. She's there to execute Gav's will faithfully and does so. I'm a downtown interest, so what the hell do I care.
But Peskin - what an ambitious little twatwaffle the Napoleon of North Beach turned out to be. More outwardly reasonable than Daly (as is Charles Manson, so it's not saying a great deal), but also more scheming. Dangerous little bugger. Totally flopped for a $20K contribution. If Gav did that, rita would shit blood.
The other issue is that he calls MAP names while defending Daly. Daly, as we know, is a churlish, loudmouthed, shrieking, privileged assclown. Defending this lumpy piece of shit is bad form.
to late ChinaNob.
