SFist Finds: Jackie Do You Love Him (or Her)?
Submit your Bay Area finds to found [at] sfist [dot] com or tag them sfist and found on Flickr! Let us know where and when you found the item and any other helpful info.
Today's find was submitted via the SFist Found stream by N Judah Chronicles' Greg Dewar, who caught this tag on the T-Third Line a couple of weeks ago. We wonder if Jackie ever saw this message, and if so, would she love a vandal who declares his/her love to her via a Sharpie on Muni?

sitting at the new turkish coffee shop on berry and 4th street a couple weekends ago, i couldn't help but notice all the lovely scratches and tags on the brand new t-third (thug third) i call it.
wtf!
these people are animals in the bay view.
so sad.
suckafree you're such a racist prick, a throw back to SF's ugly bigoted past.
Hope you know that Muni Metro trains are not fixed to a particular route, so what was today an L-Ingleside becomes a T-Third, N-Judah, etc. later on in the week. Unless you're some kind of expert on local graffiti, then you have no idea where it came from.
I think suckafree was referring to the stations. Everyone knew that there would be tons of scratches and tags. During construction it was an endless battle to keep the glass in the shelters replaced. (That's why they use glass, btw - it's easy and cheap to replace, and it's really obvious when it needs replacement.) We'll see if now that construction is complete Muni (or the shelter contractor?) keeps up the maintenance.
yeah, i'm a racist pig for calling out the worthless pieces of shit from the bayview that are destroying the most expensive public works project per customer since the hoover damn
all my fault
i am to blame
oh how timely:

muni had to remove the benches along the thug third before the fucking animals that inhabit that part of the hood finish destroying the rest of them
They have security cameras. I wonder if anyone's checking them?
Or, if they find someone breaking the benches, will the DA (soon to be re-eleected with no opposition!) bother to prosecute?
Well whadaya know Im not the only person who notices the thugs and bangers and subcultures most responsible for ruining the city. How long before the good good people at sfist ban us all? You don't want an epidemic of people who are sick of the lefty status quo now do you? We may start to communicate! I've said we should call in the national guard but if that isnt gonna happen then maybe gentrification will do it for us and we squeeze the bad elements out. The good ones if any will find a way to stay and be welcomes while the dirt gets washed away.
Actually no it is all really sukafree's fault. His bad.
ROTFLMAO!
Part of the problem and and BIG part is that no one does anything when they see taggers in action. I was on a bus once a few years ago where I saw a 4 kids marking the shit out of the walls it in the back. The driver could see, and did nothing.
I went back and starting screaming at them to stop, and eventually I had a major flip out at them to the point they jumped off at the next stop. I wouldn't do that anymore because kids nowadays would shoot you in the face for less. The police consider someone tagging in progress the same as someone breaking a window in progress. Call the emerg SFPD.
From a cell phone use 415-553-8090, not 911. This is for SF only!!!
Calling 911 from a cell will not necessarily connect you to SFPD but usually to the Highway Patrol [in Fairfield I think] then they have to transfer the call to 553-8090. Precious time could be lost, and the taggers may escape because they usually work very fast.
NOTE: calling 553-8090 is the same as calling 911 in respect to the laws about using 911 as emerg help only. Don't report old tags already up on that line, only vandalism in progress. If you can't remember the number, call 911 as a second best. Don't confront the taggers.
PS if you are reporting an emerg from a land line [non cell] of course you still use 911
But will they actually get prosecuted?!
AJ- [11]
yes if they are caught in action. SFPD has a special graffiti officer who does nothing but help convict taggers. His name is Christopher Putz [pro "puts"] 415-278-9454. DON'T USE THIS NUMBER to report tagging in action or for general info.
311 has general info and can connect you to the "Graffiti Watch" experts at DPW. They have a volunteer tag removal program too. You get free supplies and training if you join.
The courts consider Officer Putz an expert witness during trials. He has a photo database of tags, and knows who many of the chronic taggers are.
There is also something called "court watch" which is part of the DA's office. They will notify you when a specific tagger's trial is to take place and allow interested parties to testify during the sentencing. When people testify, the judges are usually harsher with punishment.
Bottom line is that it takes more than bitching, it takes action on the part of all of us to get these asshole taggers shut down.
wow.
a fun little feature about found items in SF gets turned into a downer/buzzkill by two commenters , "suckafree" and "yogo" who are apparently all balls out when it comes to posting behind fake names sitting on their fat asses, but can't have the balls to own their comments.
wow, great job sfist, this site used to be fun, and now it's becoming a lame bitchfest, it wasn't like this when eve was editor....
what's fun about destroying public property like the new 680 million muni line????
