R.I.P Bill Walsh

billwalsh.jpgWe have some sad news to report-- Bill Walsh has passed away at the age of 75. The Genius had been battling leukemia for awhile and died sometime this morning.

We guess at this point we should do a long bio of who he is and what he's meant to the Bay Area but we don't think that's necessary as everyone knows what he's meant to football and to the area. If you want to look check out a bio, go here and here. Ray Ratto and Nancy Gay have already posted their thoughts on SFGate.

We'll have more throughout the day.

Ingmar Bergman, Tom Snyder, Bill Walsh. Yet again, famous people die in threes. RIP, dudes.

Dear Coach,

We will miss you.

Dear Bill,
Thanks for being an incredible coach. San Francisco will always love you.

Ever since I was a kid, whenever I thought about God, I saw Bill Walsh. I'd like to think that those two Big Guys are up there talking football. Thanks Bill, for everything.
