SFist Tonight
-- Greg Behrendt: SF-native, author of He's Just Not That into You (comfortingly known to many a confused single gal as a symptom of Peter-Pan Syndrome), and comedian takes a break from his talk show to make you snicker/slap your knee. The sheer hilarity starts at 8 p.m. at Cobb’s Comedy Club, 915 Columbus; tickets are $25.
-- Blur, "Transgender & Gender Variant" Support Group: Pretty much what it says right there; a good place to go for 18- to 25-year-olds looking for support or just to chat with other fine transgender folk. Free food will be provided. Meeting happens from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. every Thursday at Dimensions Clinic, 3850 17th Street; admission is free.
-- "Thursday Night Live": Blueflamers, Maniac Martyrs, Wealthy Whore Entertainment, and Prince Dagger perform tonight at this weekly rock series. Music starts at 8 p.m. at the Eagle Tavern, 398 12th Street; cover charge is $6.
-- Edgetone New Music Summit: Experimental and jazz-laced music festival kicks off that goddamn racket with a show featuring Fields of Flowers, Kioku, Jim Ryan's Forward Energy, and Tatsuya Nakatani. The daring noise starts at 7:30 p.m. at SF Community Music Center, 544 Capp; tickets are $5-$10.
-- The SF International Poetry Festival: Lawrence Ferlinghetti opens up this poetry festival at 6:30 p.m. outside on (where else?) Jack Kerouac Alley, between Grant and Columbus; the word is free.
