SFist Photo: Recent coyote "execution" still reverberates
A coyote, very possibly one of the two killed on Sunday, we saw a while back in Golden Gate Park heading towards the Polo Field parking lot. People have been regularly feeding these critters lately. Not smart.
News of the recent "execution" of two coyotes by the Feds in Golden Gate Park last Sunday night still reverberates. It turns out that Ed Jew warned us all about the issue late last year. Vic Lee over at Channel 7 makes the point that park authoritahs didn't take tangible steps to address this issue, but it's not exactly clear what could have been done. We recall seeing signs warning about the dangers of coyotes in GGP - they might have been unofficial or homemade. But leave it Jon Carroll to put things all in 'sperpective.
[Update: Coyotes run with their tails down, as shown. This is a fox, while this is a coyote. (Links fixed.) One is small, the other is big. In GGP, one has a white-tipped tail, and the other does not. Or something like that.]

Ed Jew knew about the coyotes because he is the sun that shines on the Sunset and the sun sees all!
I hear the coyotes were executed because they knew too much.

I will never forget that town hall meeting with Jake McGoldrick and Gavin Newsom last year where this one woman went on and on about "the sex acts" in the park, and then others chimed in about "the coyotes" and worst of all "The coyotes having sex in the park!"
So, to hear the mob, the only problems in GGP were:
-Coyotes
-Coyotes doin' it
-People don' it
-and God Knows What Else.
Interesting that the coyotes have so many thoughtful advocates AFTER they're dead...where were all these defenders of the oppressed anmals BEFORE the li'l coyotes got shot? Hmmmm?
