SFPD Arrest Five For...?

PIC-0019%5B2%5D.jpg
(7pm-ish, 7/10, McAllister and Divisadero)

An anonymous tipster sent in the above image, which is curious since the entirety of the SFPD was required to stake out a three block radius from last night’s All-Star Game, searching for elusive Alyssa Milano boob. No, not really, but we’re dying to know more. (Excuse the pun.)

This shot shows at least five people in the process of being arrested, and was reportedly captured one hour after a shooting at the very delicious Lilly's BBQ (formerly Brother In Law’s BBQ), where we hope no one was hurt. But if anyone knows what happened -- if it was shooting-related; hickory-bold mesquite-related; drug-related; or even if, say, you found any little plastic baggies at the scene and you'd like to investigate their contents with us over several vodka rocks at supperclub -- do let us know.

Can we have a new column along the lines of Ask a Muni Driver - 'Ask a Gang Banger'?

this is the 2nd shooting in that area in 2 weeks. violence in SF has risen since last year. the neighborhoods need to do something about this. the shooting too place during daylight! let's get more police to walk the streets!

That corner is always a scene. I'm sure there's more going on in that barber shop than cutting hair.

When the police don't have a written crime intervention policy and a bullied BOS this is what you get for the 25% pay raise.

Give me a break a bullied BOS. They should get thier noses out of police work(newsom too). Between the two of them trying to tell SFPD what to do its no wonder the homicide rates going up. Fixed posts are great for that corner but when your call for police service go unanswered cause the cops cant leave without getting written up complain to your supervisor not the cops. Now Newsome is demanding more foot patrols so the BOS dosent look better than him which only makes it take the cops who can roam take longer to get to your call. Looks like six cops taking on five suspects who might have just shot a gun. How many people would Jerry Jarvis need before he approached them?

My ex-partner lived in that very same bldg: 1629 McCall in 1998. That year the property was sold & the new owner began evicting every single black tenant. Within 1 year, the only black person remaining in the bldg was the manager. People were given 'quit or evict' notices for simply having plants on their porch. What a sad reminder of the whitewashing of the City.

I think we need more "Castro On Patrol" efforts by residents in these communities... groups or 3 letting folks know it is more likely they'll get caught now because WE are watching our hoods.

You won't find me out on patrol. I don't want to get shot.

nothing will change until we staff the police appropriately. anyone care enough to go voice that opinion at city hall?

i have the facts in email i can share about how grossly understaffed we are for a city our size and complexity.

we are 1100 officers short to do anything about the recent crime wave.

might be time to stop looking the other way progressives, before you get shot.

From our local newsletter..

Neighbors,

There was another shooting on Tuesday July 10, around 6:15pm on
Divisadero near Grove Street.

Here is what we know:

A bunch of young people were filming a rap video at Grove and
Divisadero when someone targeted one of the kids in the group. The
kid started running north on Divisadero and ran up to Fulton. The
shooters followed and apparently shot up a number of cars and several
store fronts. It does not appear that anyone was hit. Unfortunately
I have not gotten further information about any arrests today.

NOPNA is organizing a response with other neighborhood groups. We
will initiate another letter writing campaign but we think we need to
do something much bigger.

Please come to our general meeting scheduled for next Thursday, July
19th at Café Neon. I am going to try to get the Mayor to this meeting
but I am not sure he will be able to attend.

Start groups of 3 walking around the neighborhoods - and pick up litter while you're on your exercise walks - and make your presence known so the kids will go elsewhere to stir up trouble.

That year the property was sold & the new owner began evicting every single black tenant.
apparently didn't evict them all.

There is a gang war in that neighborhood.Expect an action packed summer.
The reason that there are always "no witnesses" is because the cops do not want to put targets on locals for reporting crimes that will not be prosecuted. Human witnesses are not relevant to modern crime organizations, cops know that human witnesses could end up as target practice.
We need cameras, they are the only witnesses that will talk in court. Cameras, cameras cameras!!!No snitch, well the camera doesn't care. Cameras snitch, and they help understaffed DA's prosecute when there is a lack of flesh-type witnesses.

My friend Renee took this photo on her way home (see my blog where it was first posted.
