More Carole Migden driving news! The Sacramento Bee (which, we'll admit, we were only perusing to see if there were some more pictures of the whales) has found a woman who's still angry about the time Carole Migden totaled her car back in 1996 (Migden's first year in the State Assembly, and a year before Migden was diagnosed with leukemia). "It's really odd at my age that I just can't get over it," the woman said.
The woman, Teresa Latham, is a tax technician at the State Board of Equalization, and had just paid off her 1990 Dodge Spirit seven months earlier when Migden ran a stop sign by the State Capitol and totaled her car. Latham said that Migden didn't seem concerned at all about the situation, even though the accident caused Latham's air bags to go off. Latham got fair compensation for the car and for her medical injuries, but is still peeved that Migden didn't seem particularly sorry about the event.
Latham ran into Migden a few years later at the Board of Equalization, and Migden told her to smile because it was Friday. Latham responded, "I'd rather you not talk to me. You totaled my car." Oh, we kind of feel bad for Carole Migden now!

Don't. Feel bad for Ms. Migden, that is.
Her latest driving kerfluffle is not exactly an isolated incident when it comes to her attitude towards other, lesser people.
I wouldn't feel bad. In fact, I don't. She sounds like a self-important politician, cancer or not. I think the point of this story is clear: Migden's reckless driving can't be blamed entirely on her health. I never bought that story, anyway.
Oh please. Ms. Migden is probably the last politician in the state who deserves any sympathy for perceived slights she may have received from others. She is the very definition of rudeness and self-centeredness. And her side has been running a dirty campaign against Leno. I can't wait for her retirement after this election.
I was an (almost) victim of Carole Migden's driving two years ago. I was biking down Golden Gate Avenue, and making a left turn onto Market Street. A Cadillac (I think?) almost hit me from behind as I was turning, and so I stopped and let her proceed.
When I looked up, the license plate was "S 3" and I saw a woman with frizzy hair at the wheel -- who obviously didn't care that she had almost hit a biker. She was probably angrier at me than I was at her that we almost got into a car accident.
Yes, it was Carole Migden.
So this explains your jihad against Carol Migden?
Once, I got noogied by a guy that ran into his car and then drove off. His license plate was IM LENO or something. He was madder about giving the nooging than I was about getting it. My scalp still itches, whcih helps nurse my grudge for the past two years.
The driver was Mark Leno.
That's called a "stinger" in J-school. Wow, I'm just like Paul!
And another thing, since we're at it Paul.
You don't want a progressive convention because it would sap funds? But you want Mark to run against Carol? Oh that's right, you've endorsed Mark and you're an unpaid worker for his cause.
Is Mark the progressive going to show at the progcon? Maybe he needs to ask permission from Newsom first. How progressive of Mark to be such good buddies with Newsom, who might as well be a Republican. He steals good ideas though.
Will Mark go to ProgCon?
I am sorry for her illness. I wish her a full and complete recovery.
That being said, I'm tired of the excuses. I don't believe her. It seems that every time someone acts badly, whether it be Newsome, Migdon, or Mel Gibson, there's always an excuse.
Just once, I'd like someone to say. "I just acted like a complete jerk. I am sorry." Then leave it at that.
Another state worker with a chip on their shoulder...what else is new!!!
SFnative-
Maybe I'm getting my time-line confused, but I believe that the first words out of Newsom's mouth were, paraphrasing, "I just acted like a complete jerk. I'm sorry." Several days later it was announced that he'd be seeking substance abuse counseling. And, I believe, in that reporting Newsom was clear that one wasn't an excuse for the other.
She's so rude it's hard to find even a l*sbian who is voting for her. And when she loses, will she move back to SF? Eeeek! Remember her Harry Britt fiasco? It's payback time!
And how weird is the face lift?
Could be leukemia AND Lohan's disease affecting her driving.
That being said-best wishes for a speedy recovery, Carol.
