No, we're just joking.

It's not known why they're not filming in Fremont as they appear to be filming almost everywhere in the East Bay but Fremont. Scenes so far have been shot in Oakland and Alameda and Hayward. Needless to say, people in Fremont aren't happy.

For the five of you still out there who haven't read "The Kite Runner" (and you should too-- it's a fantastic book), the main character of the novel emigrates from Afghanistan to the East Bay and becomes a novelist living in Fremont. The movie is being made by Dreamworks picture and has no release date as of yet. There's not even a poster or a trailer done yet. Filming, however, should be wrapped up at the end of this year. Which would make it the end of this week.

Maybe they should just get Lucas to super-impose bits and pieces of Fremont into the movie to make it more realistic. Like add all those car dealerships and highways and strip-malls.
