After vetoing Mirkarimi's foot patrol proposal on Friday, Gavin Newsom skipped on over to the Red Tie Gala at Neiman-Marcus, to benefit St. Anne's Home for the elderly poor in the Lake District, run by the Little Sisters of the Poor. Hope those Sisters don't need foot patrols!
And sad news for young Brittanie Mountz -- Gavin's got a new plus-one on his arm. Our source identifies her as actress Jennifer Siebel. According to IMDB, Ms. Siebel is above the drinking age (32, to be precise), is a Stanford Business School grad, and is breaking out with small roles in major films (playing "Younger Woman In Market" in Something's Gotta Give, and "Receptionist" in Rent.) Here's her bio if you're interested.
We look forward to our intrepid readers finding out more about Ms. Siebel (a MySpace page? Voter registration forms? Haircut status?) -- and meanwhile, we'll ready up the Name That Couple contest surveys one more time! Gaviffer? Siebelsom? Oh, the possibilities!

We're pretty sure they were at Icer Air on Saturday but trying to confirm. Let's just it's good to be the Mayor-- taking dates up to the photo plank along the ski jump is always a date pleaser.

I am happy to see he is no longer dating Brittanie, if he was ever dating her at all. It is possible Jennifer is using Gavin for the publicity but for all we know he is doing the same thing with her. His affair with Sofia Milos got both of them lots of media attention and Gavin probably got some connections in Hollywood. Its possible this thing with Jennifer is the same thing all over again. She's an actor and he's a politician so would it be that surprising?

In case you get all weirdly offended again, I am certainly not saying that there is not a plethora of very beautiful and very intelligent women available, simply that Gav might be better served by being the pretty one in the relationship.

Are you saying that when both people in a realtionship have great egos, ambitions, abilities, goals, looks, etc. and both want to be the superstar and center of attention it usually doesn't work? Do you mean usually one person should be in the support role in the relationship while the other is the star? I have to say I kind of agree with that although I don't think the woman should necessarily be the one in the support position (i.e. note Margaret Thatcher and her husband). Who knows, if Gavin does end up with Jennifer long term the attention she gets as a politician's wife will make up for the attention she loses by sacrificing some of her acting ambitions.

Jen has always looked pretty darn good - we knew each other for a brief period. Not surprised she's now dating the mayor, she's always had a thing for the limelight. We'll have to find out from her if he's actually gay or not.
I saw the Gav and a blond at Luella on Saturday night (also there was Mick Jagger). Not sure which blond though...

If she was willing to date George Clooney and probably knew that relationship wouldn't go anywhere why wouldn't she date Gavin? The publicity will only help an ambitious acress.
The one from New York is Erin Brodie from The bachelor show. The publicity is good because people will look at Siebels website, but not good because they will see all her moles and flaws and Gavin will dump her soon because she is boring and very desparate for the limelight, as George Clooney knows. She would be better off trying to make it on her talent, but that's impossible.
