Bay Blogger Thursday
Among their conclusions: The Carousel Theater, which opened in 1964 with an animatronic extravaganza and characters and music and a stirring prediction of future technology, was pretty cool. But the new version, opened in 1998, is just a walk-through infomercial where patrons are told why they should buy more Disney products. And that's pretty lame. Another blogger comments that the current designers ruined the subtletly of the Leave a Legacy Monuments, most of which he had originally designed back in 1999. And: more tiki would be good -- which is only, like, our personal motto. Also, someone's not very happy about the new Pooh ride: "If slogging past wobbly wooden flats while sitting inside a giant carved out turd is your idea of fun then you will be delighted." Actually, that does sound kind of awesome -- maybe they could build a ride that's a tribute to schlocky B-movies. Lord knows they'd have plenty of reference material to consult in their library.
