The scuttlebutt discussed over coffee and corned beef hash at the St. Francis this morning was about the film crews amassed on York street between 23rd and 24th. The set designers had already been working through last week to prepare the interiors at 1163 York and the exteriors along the block (one of SFist's favorite murals has a facade covering it now, and the facade is covered in some terribly fake graffitti).

Will Smith was spotted yesterday morning with his seven year old son Jaden, who will be playing same in the movie. Of course, this SFist is much more interested in a Jada Pinkett Smith sighting, but that's neither here nor there. Very cool, though, are the vintage cars parked along the block, including an old Muni bus with vintage ads on the sides (which is a little more realistic than a Duboce park BART stop).

Shooting at this location is rumored to wrap on Thursday, so if you want to come see people from Hollywood make movie magic, you'd better hurry on down. We warn you, though -- movie magic involves a whole lot of guys standing around looking bored and eating doughnuts.
