Well, we just don't know. We're sure Ocean's Twelve is a fine movie, but we're so sick of having the whole "we had so much fun making this movie that we're all Best Friends Forever and we all hang out on George's boat every weekend" PR bulls**t shoved down our throats the we have ceased to care.
But that's really the only hot new thing at the box office, which causes us to suggest that you take this weekend to catch up on the stuff you didn't have a chance to see earlier, and to enjoy some choice revivals.
For example, the Balboa has a great lineup this weekend. You have your choice of two double bills: Being Julia and Maria Full of Grace or Ray and Remember Me, My Love. We have not heard a single bad thing about any of those movies, and remember that the most you'll pay to see either of these double-features is $7.50!
This weekend also marks the 65th anniversary celebration of the Bridge Theater. For the next two weeks, prepare yourselves for "ten different film-going events presenting classic films, news reels, and cartoons with special guests, live performances, lobby décor, period costumes, and more." Tonight and tomorrow night arrive at the Bridge by 6:30 for a showing of Gone With The Wind preceded by live music and a special appearance by Ms. Cammie King (who played Scarlett and Rhett’s daughter, Bonnie Blue Butler).
Sam Fuller's classic tale of the horrors of World War II, The Big Red One opens at the Castro tonight and runs through next Wednesday. Insert your own vulgar joke here, because we know you want to.
What are you psyched to see this weekend? Let us know in the comments!

Um, actually, I kinda want to see Blade 3, even though I haven't seen the other two. See, that kid that played "Billy" on noted '80s Canadian teen soap opera "Fifteen" grew up to be Van Wilder and now he's killing vampires.
I must be a part of this. I must.
Yeah, Hannibal King and Co are bringing me to the theater this weekend, too, but I thought it would be beating a potentially crappy horse to go on about Blade 3 twice.
That Bonnie Blue Butler dame is milking her GWtW fame all it's worth. I saw her years ago at the Castro during one of the film's many re-releases, and again at the Film Festival when a documentary about the movie was screened. Apparently she lives in Mendocino, so it's not that much of a trek for her...
D'oh! My bad.
I saw both Ocean's 12 and Gone With the Wind this weekend. I enjoyed them both. Not surprisingly, GWTW was better. But a little too long. It got to the point where I just wanted to sit Rhett and Scarlet down and make them have one good honest discussion with each other and get on with their lives. (And O's 12 was better than O's 11.)
