SFist would like to point out that if you haven't had a chance to give for the Tsunami effort, you still can. We know it's hard in the weeks following Christmas, what with your budget probably blown to bits. This is the last time we ask, we promise. That doesn't mean we won't highlight other ways you can help in the future, like HiMY SYeD's Global Vigil for January 26th.

We're not perfect. Couldn't be if we wanted to. So let us know when we f**k up. Worked for Judith and Alex. And it can work for you, too. Remember, you can always mail complaints to our ombudsman if you think you'll piss the staff off.

That said, it was a banner week for journalism here at SFist. SFist Cheshire spoke to the defense teams of the men still on trial in the murder of Gwen Araujo. He was disheartened by the lack of continuing coverage in the local press. SFist Jon provided some background on Frank "Darth" Vega, the new publisher of the Chronicle -- something, of course, the Chron neglected to cover themselves. SFist got a hot tip on another story you won't see in that rag -- the Chronicle's smokers are mildly inconsiderate! And SFist Rita managed to get herself involved in the tussle between Tony Hall and PJ Corkery. We've got your back, PJ. We were pissed Tony almost blew it with the Rent production, too. SFist Jeremy took one for the team, reviewing a bevy of caffeinated beverages, including the new jumpy Budweiser offering. Ewwww.

Goodbye, Kim, we'll, uh, miss you, or something.
