[Ed. Note: Every Thursday we are going to take you on a trip to one of the destinations on the links list to your right - a series of local writers, photographers, techies and musicians who, like us, blog in and about the Bay.]
SFist, like almost everyone else, has spent some time working in the world of food service. Lord, it can be difficult. Customers seem have a deeper sense of entitlement than multinational corporations sometimes. They make messes, they get pissy about their order, they don't tip you well. We'd like to believe we've been good to our servers over the years since we know how it is to be on the other side.
Which is why we fell in love with your waitress photos. An anonymous blogger (at least we couldn't find her name on the site), she takes gorgeous photos of sites around the bay with a well trained eye - having studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design. The photos have an ethereal quality, and we feel that your waitress has an exceptional eye for the abstract in reality. The above photo, of flowers along Parker street in Berkeley last July (part of her "26 things" series) speak to the core of what the Bay Area is about - natural beauty thriving in an urban environment.
So take some time to browse the site and gaze upon some great photography. She also has a great compendium of fellow photobloggers. And if you end up at one of her tables, tip at least twenty percent people.
