A woman was found dead in a home in Noe Valley on Saturday, after police received a tip from a friend of the alleged murder suspect.

At 8:22 am on Saturday, a man walked into the Mission Street Police Station and told police there that his friend might have killed someone, as NBC Bay Area reports.

This led police to search a home on Alvarado Street between Castro and Noe Streets, where they found the woman. The medical examiner on the scene confirmed the woman was deceased at the time of arrival. No identity or cause of death of the woman has been released yet.

A citywide alert went out on Saturday morning warning of police activity in the area.

A second group of officers were dispatched to the home of the suspect on Aptos Avenue in the Balboa Terrace neighborhood. There, they found a man in his car exiting his garage. He was said to have bloodied hands and clothing and was immediately taken into custody. He was booked on unknown charges, as the Chronicle reports.

The suspect has not yet been identified as of Sunday afternoon, and no further details have been released.
