Open for just six short weeks before closing suddenly last November, Oakland's sprawling, lofty Grand Fare Market will reopen its doors according to Eater.

Operating costs were blamed for the initial closure of the venture from Doug Washington and Freya Prowe of Town Hall, Salt House, and Anchor & Hope. Having now retooled their operation, we're told to anticipate lower prices, a smaller inventory, more seating, and even a parklet out front.

That should be perfect to show off Washington's 1940's Spartan trailer, which will serve pastry, Linea Coffee, and ice cream. An April grand-reopening is planned.

Of the concept, Washington told Inside Scoop last year that he "wanted to provide a clean space with beautiful produce and product-driven fare so that you don’t have to cook. But also a place where you can sit down to enjoy it in this nice garden or take it home.”
