Ever wondered how those big Empire Strikes Back cranes work over at the Port of Oakland? Well, it's not often that civilians get to watch them up close, but here we have some rare drone footage of the operation as several big container ships are docked there getting unloaded. The drone doesn't get too close to the things, as that probably would be call for alarm among Port workers, but you can watch the slow, methodical work that the cranes do, unloading one big container at a time and hoisting them onto rolling tracks on dry land.

This was all shot in 4K with a DJI Phantom 3 Pro drone by SFist reader Eddie Codel, who also shot this loveliness.

(And yes, we know, the Lucas people all deny that the cranes inspired the AT-AT Walkers, but whatever.)
