An 11-year-old boy was grazed by a bullet while at home sleeping in his bed around 5 a.m. Sunday morning in Oakland. The shot came from a passing car on the 1100 block of 7th Street near Adeline, in the Acorn housing development and two blocks from the West Oakland BART Station.

As KTVU reports, several rounds were fired in the direction of the home, and went through a wall or window and hit the boy in the shoulder, leaving him bleeding.

The boy was hospitalized for his injury and is in stable condition. No one else in the home was injured.

Police don't yet know the motive for the shooting, as the Tribune reports, or if the boy's house was even the shooter's intended target. They are, however, saying they don't believe the shooting was gang-related.
