Look, we get it: some of you just moved to San Francisco. (Hello! Welcome! We have great Mexican food!) Some of you probably moved here years ago and never bothered to register to vote because of how you hate America so much. (You did move to San Francisco, after all.) Seeing as how today is National Voter Registration Day it is our duty as a website on the Internet to remind each of you, dear readers, that you should take like two seconds to make sure you are registered to vote. And then when you're done, tell your new-in-town coworker to register to vote. Tell everybody on the bus while you're at it.

If you're not comfortable with voter registration via the Internet, there are also a slew of Voter Registration Day events around town where you can register the old fashioned way: by wasting paper. The Department of Elections is open until 5 p.m. in the basement of City Hall and will also be holding later hours across Civic Center at the Main Branch Library from 4 - 8 p.m. For the new media folks, who are most likely still registered to vote at their old addresses in their Northeastern college dorm rooms, there are several registration events at startup hotspots like The Hub in SoMa and the Hatchery.

Now that you're all registered to vote, here's a nice list of the propositions on the ballot in California this November, as well as the San Francisco-specific ballot measures, which might throw some newbies for a loop. While you're at it, double check which supervisor district you live in. If you're in an odd-numbered district, it's time to start doing your research on those Supervisor candidates.
