Earlier this week, a cyclist near Laurel Heights was stopped by two plainclothes cops while riding on the sidewalk along on Pine Street near Baker. The two cops suspected the biker had stolen a second bike he was holding on to as he rode, and as it turned out the 35-year-old suspect was currently on probation. After a quick patdown, cops found methamphetamine and ecstasy on him, finally answering the question: "what kind of person rides their bike on a sidewalk?"

According to SFPD's Richmond Station newsletter, the suspect was booked around 10:10 p.m. Tuesday night for narcotics possession and probation violations. All of which could have been avoided if he had taken either of the perfectly good bike lanes on Clay or Post.
