Zodiac Killer Is Alive And Living In Solano County, Says Former Cop

It seems that each year or so we get another claim about the true identify and/or whereabouts of the Zodiac Killer. Today another claim presents itself for your consideration: According to former California Highway Patrol officer Lyndon Lafferty, who wroite a new true (?) crime book titled The Zodiac Killer Cover Up, the infamous 1970s serial killer, now an alleged 92-years-old, is alive and living in Solano County. SFPD to Confirm Perez's Evidence in Zodiac Case?

SFPD to Confirm Perez's Evidence in Zodiac Case?

We all laughed at Deborah Perez. We all chuckled when she (and her batshit insane lawyers) held a press conference at the SF Chronicle building to announce, among other things, that Perez helped write the Zodiac Killer's letters, stitch his masks, and go with him on his murder sojourns. We chortled when she said that her father, Guy Ward Hendrickson, was the famous killer. We were all, 'duuuude, what?' when claims came out that Perez might have thought at one time that she was JFK's biological daughter. more ›

Police to Question Zany Woman In Zodiac Killer Case

Police to Question Zany Woman In Zodiac Killer Case

Deborah Perez, the quite possibly sanity-estranged woman who claimed that the Zodiac Killer was her father, Guy Ward Hendrickson, will face police questioning on Wednesday. According to reports, "San Francisco police Lt. Michael Staskos has reportedly received information from forensic experts who say handwriting, psychological and DNA evidence link Perez to her involvement in the Zodiac case." Just what the San Francisco Police Department expects to glean from her is anyone's guess. In addition to dramatically announcing that her father was the man who terrorized the Bay Area in the 70s, Perez could also be former president John F. Kennedy's daughter as well. more ›

Police to Review Wild Zodiac Killer Claim

Police to Review Wild Zodiac Killer Claim

In light of yesterday's astounding Zodiac Killer announcement, the SFPD said they will look into Deborah Perez's claims that her late father, Guy Ward Hendrickson, was the infamous Zodiac Killer. Sgt. Lyn Tomioka, according to KCBS, said yesterday that "homicide investigators will check into information from a woman who said she was a little girl when her father killed at least two of the known victims nearly 40 years ago" Among her claims at yesterday's press conference in front of the SF Chronicle building: Perez came along with he father as her performed the murders, she embroidered the mask he wore, the Zodiac Killer lived in Orange Country, and that she only remembered what happened after watching an episode of America's Most Wanted. (Depending of which psychology expert you talk to, most of them believe Repressed Memory Syndrome to be a myth.) more ›

Zodiac Killer’s Name To Be Revealed Today

Zodiac Killer’s Name To Be Revealed Today

The Bay Area serial killer who murdered Bay Area residents in the late 1960s and 1970s, leaving behind bizarre letters, has been identified, or so says a private investigatory group. The team, formed by now deceased San Francisco attorney Melvin Belli, is comprised of "investigators and forensic experts." According to Edward Lozzi, the group's spokesman, the team will announce the killer's name, support their claim "with forensic evidence, including cryptology and handwriting analysis, along with new information from law enforcement investigations and murder accomplice evidence." What's most surprising about their alleged discovery is that the Zodiac Killer (or "Killers") targeted their victims. "The murders were not random. They were definitely people who were targeted ... This is an entirely new direction," said Lozzi. A noon news conference will be held today with the official announcement. more ›

San Francisco: The Unknown City

San Francisco: The Unknown City

We love a good guidebook. We grew up as devotees to the Lonely Planet series, but frankly, we've been known to grab a travel tome when we're bored just to bone up on the best cheap hotel in Jakarta or nightclub in Buenos Aires. Not that we have plans to go any of these places anytime soon, but it's fun to daydream, no? We especially like guides that eschew the blurbs-and-listings format to give us more in-depth narratives about the people and history that really make a place. On that point, definitely delivers. more ›

Harriet Miers -- Get In Our Belli!

Harriet Miers -- Get In Our Belli!

image-2.jpg Sure, Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers seems like, as Jon Stewart said before moving onto Tom Ammiano last night, "a Talbots shopper" now -- but back in the day, that girl could move! Before she embraced God and evangelical Christianity, Miers worked in San Francisco for local legal hound Melvin Belli in the summer of 1969. Belli, known as "The King of Torts," represented a number of notorious folks throughout his career, including Jack Ruby and Sirhan Sirhan, and that very year, Belli got a letter from Jake-Gyllenhaal-bait the Zodiac Killer. Miers came out for the summer to work in the famed Belli Bordello. By all accounts (that is, PJ Corkery's), she was a pretty decent lawyer but seemed a little uncomfortable in the office. "She was a terrific, talented worker, and an awfully nice gal, but she was something of a square," reports one of her co-workers. Miers turned down her offer of a permanent job, and decided to stay in Texas instead. The conclusion we've drawn from this saga? Miers is the Zodiac Killer!
