Different strokes for different folks, and all that. There’s a ton of great concerts to check out this weekend. One that SFist will be hitting is the Parenthetical Girls and Los Campesinos tonight at Bimbo’s. Need to be sold? Zac Penninton from the Parenthetical Girls and Ellen Campesinos! do their best with a short version of the SFist interview to sell you. Besides being great musicians, they’ve got some mad logic skills.

Weekend Art
Man, the CCA show last week was killer, no? So much Bay Area art pride for to behold. We were recently flipping through a 7x7 SF and ran into a piece on Amanda Lynch Smith—who we interviewed way back when. Her art continues to amaze with its painterly details and clever juxtaposition of little girls with Hummers and Chainsaws. Her process, which involves building a ceramic base and then painstakingly applying and firing layers of under-glazes and glazes is itself impressive. Seeing her work in person is key to appreciating the minute details like teeth on figures which are less than an inch tall!. Lucky for you she has a solo show opening at Jack Fischer Gallery Saturday from 2-5. Come check it out, hobnob with the art crowd, and brag about seeing her art way back when.
