New S.F.-Based Social Network Boasts 50-Friend Maximum

Path, a new "personal" network being touted as somewhat of an anti-social network, launched today. Samurai Pwned

Samurai Pwned

Myth, Militarism + Man Boy Love -- say what? The "Asians Art Museum" have taken quite the piss out of the museum that bears the same name but without the surreptitious "s." Satirical phrases that pepper the front page, such as, "where more than seven centuries of martial rule are reduced to a single Disney-like trope of gentleman-warrior myth," "Better Ceramics through Slavery," "Let the gleam of naked swordblades transport you to a time when samurai used them to slice noses off of an estimated 38,000 victims," and "Say 'Konnichiwa' to Samurai Soft Power," have us wishing this were a real museum. Eyes on Blogs has gotten the scoop that Ernie from 8Asians is interviewing the creators of the Asians Art Museum today, so keep an eye out for it. Update: The interview is up! 3 Questions For StyleMob's Founder, Sasha Cagen

Sasha Cagen's been mentioned in these pages before. She's the author of books Quirkyalone and To-Do List. Even with those cool accomplishments under her belt, she's gone on to found (with co-founder Adam Souzis) something astonishingly addictive -- StyleMob. A very nice SFist reader sent us an invite during the "invite-only beta" -- which comes to a close today! If all goes as planned, today will start the "public beta," so cruise on over and join the 6,000 current members. StyleMob is an online community "for street fashion inspiration" where you can see "how real people put together their outfits." There are all sorts of voting, networking, and community tools. more ›
