Did you know it's swarming season for bees right now?!?! Those of us who don't live in the country maybe don't have to worry quite so much, but with all the various rooftop hives that hobbyists have installed around town lately, maybe we should! An elementary school in Vacaville was "briefly invaded by tens of thousands of bees" on Tuesday afternoon, prompting a rescue response by professional beekeepers.

Vacaville Teen Allegedly Sexually Assaults and Stabs 13-y-o Neighbor 30 Times
The most sordid and sensational story to come out over the weekend is the brutal stabbing and sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl by her 14-year-old neighbor, who broke into the girl's house late Saturday night/early Sunday morning while she was sleeping. The victim ultimately escaped the home, running to a neighbor's house to call 911 after being stabbed 30 times. The victim's 18-month-old brother, whom she was babysitting at the time, was also stabbed after he woke up during the assault. This all took place on Balsam Way in Vacaville, and the victim's mother was out all night, returning at 9 a.m. without knowing anything of what had happened.
1-Year-Old Gets Totally Stoned On His Birthday
Check it, check it... A Vacaville boy was about to turn one last week, yo. He and his cuzzes and his parents were going to kick back and chill at a park with some beers and some cake and some skunky green weed that his dad was bringing. The problem is, his dad gave him too big a hit before the party started (or was it a pot cookie?). And then, since he was only one year old and couldn't really hold his own, his dad dropped him back home at his ma's because he was turning into kind of a buzz kill. But now she's pissed and got the po-po involved, and Dad's being held under suspicion of child endangerment. [Ed. Note: A paltry 14% of NBC Bay Area readers are "laughing" about this. Come on guys. Do us proud. Go to work against those "furious" clickers.]
