Craig Newmark and USF Team Up For Tenderloin Tech Lab

The University of San Francisco, being the state-of-the-art campus that it is, has donated 50 of their old but not obsolete PCs to the Tenderloin Technology Lab. The lab, a joint program between St. Anthony's and San Francisco Network Ministries, also got a monetary donation from shiny-domed computer nerd and Craigslist found Craig Newmark to cover the costs of upgrading the donated PCs with more RAM and updated software. more ›

Wife Swap's "Worst Husband In The World" Now Teaching at USF

Wife Swap's "Worst Husband In The World" Now Teaching at USF

Do you remember Steve Fowler? Surely, you must. Back in 2008, he appeared on ABC's repugnant Wife Swap, a family show that mocks the institution of marriage by swapping titular spouses of two couples, with disastrous results. What happened, exactly? Infamously, Fowler slammed his temporary Missouri wife as "a dumb redneck," saying she was "undereducated, over-opinionated and overweight." It was pretty bad. Very painful to watch. She cried. Viewers steamed. It was depressing. more ›

What's Going On Here, Masonic and Turk?

What's Going On Here, Masonic and Turk?

As most of you now by now, 21-year-old Nils Linke died while riding his bike southbound on Masonic Avenue near Turk Street on Friday night. He was hit by a car. His body smeared across Masonic, with pieces his bike "strewn about half a block with pieces of shattered wheel under the car," and his shredded bits of clothes found scattered down the street. The driver of the car, who fled the scene after colliding with Linke, was arrested and booked for vehicular manslaughter. It's a tragic and trying tale for all parties involved, but especially for Linkne and his family. What's more, as many of you also know, Masonic and Fell is one of San Francisco more troubled spots when it comes to the tissue-thin relationship between cyclists and drivers. more ›

USF College Adjacent Murder Victims ID'd

The San Francisco medical examiner's office has figured out the IDs of the two victims found dead in car at Golden Gate Avenue and Masonic: 34-year-old Isiah Turner and 18-year-old Andre Helton. As local MSM has tirelessly pointed out, "the two victims were not USF students or affiliated with the university." (Because THAT wouldn't have been sad?) Also, the neighborhood is being described as "normally quiet," but muggings and jumpings do occur in the area. So, the USF neighborhood in question is hardly a bastion of zen and tranquility. Anyway, no arrests have been made. more ›
