A troupe of about fifty assorted drag queens, gays, lesbians and others took the Union Square ice rink by storm yesterday -- all in the midst of the afternoon storminess that included a few minutes of hail. Organizers Beth Amphetamine (pictured here) and Vivvyanne ForeverMore (of Tiara Sensation) hoped this could be a fun and educational experience for the holiday shoppers and families gathered for wintertime skating, and by all accounts a good time was had by all. In fact, one little girl, aged approximately 7, was overheard as she skated by telling her dad, "This is the best day of my whole life!!"

Fire at Tiffany's
A little early for breakfast (7 p.m. last night), a two-alarm fire broke out at 360 Post on Union Square, otherwise known as the Tiffany's building, whose upper floors are home to various office and doctor-type tenants. The fire is said to have been in the basement of the eleven-story building and was contained within a half hour. No word on how many little robin's egg blue boxes were destroyed, or how long Tiffany's might need to be closed.

Seasons Bar Reduces Wine By Half
Eater has word, via Thrillist, that the Four Seasons bar, succinctly called Seasons, has reduced the price of their wines by half until the end of September. (Blessed be!) That is to say, they've sliced the price of "once pricey action like Francois Jobard Chard, and Stag's Leap Cabernet." And what with a new bar menu--which we'll review and post at a later date--this means more tastiness, not to mention tipsiness, for your dollar. Seasons, 757 Market, Sunday to Thursday: 2:30 pm - midnight; Friday and Saturday: 2:30 pm - 1 am.
VIDEO: Union Square Kiss-In Protests Anti-Gay Kissing Bias
For those of you not aware of the current rumblings in the SF gay community, Prop 8 is so five minutes ago and everyone (especially local drag star Anna Conda) is UP IN ARMS over an incident from July 31 in which an affectionate gay male couple was kicked out of Internos Wine Cafe on Geary Street for macking on each other. Yes, they were kissing, and were promptly booted out by the owner who also allegedly called them perverts and faggots.
