Non-union member Edward Hall, 47, was crushed to death by a tractor-trailer at the Port of Oakland. It seems that a driver (accidentally) backed into Hall last night as he was working. This is the second fatal accident to have happened at the Port of Oakland this year, which happened in September. Hung jury in the Maureen Faibish case -- after two days of deliberation, the jury said there was no way they'd come to any kind of agreement on the case. The final count was 10 in favor of acquittal and 2 for a guilty verdict on felony child endangerment (and 7-5 on misdemeanor child endangerment). more ›
