SFist Watches: Even More TV Premieres

Tonight's lone premiere is a show we have such little interest in we didn't even bother to check out the pilot when it was available for free online. It's called "Life is Wild" and it premieres at 8 p.m. on the CW. We really have nothing more to say about it, and in fact, the main purpose of this post is to make sure everyone knows about the premiere of "I Love New York 2" on VH-1 tomorrow at 9 p.m. As you may recall, New York did not find true love during the first season of her "Flavor of Love" spin-off, since Tango dumped her for making fun of his mother. Poor, crazy New York. Will she find her soul mate this time around? Of course we can't know that for sure, but our bets are on Midget Mac. more ›

SFist Watches: Even More Thursday Fall TV Premieress

We've mentioned before that the only "Law & Order" we watch is "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," and the main reason for that is our imaginary boyfriend Vincent D'Onofrio is on it. So you can imagine we were a little worried when the fate of the show was up in the air at the end of last season. It had something to do with the franchise not pulling in the numbers it used to, and production costs needing to be cut. (Of course it should come as no surprise that the shows aren't as big in the ratings as they used to be since you can basically turn the TV on at any time of day and find an episode playing on one of any number of stations.) But apparently a compromise was reached wherein new episodes of "C.I." will air on USA first, and then will be repeated on NBC at some as-yet-to-be announced time in the future. SO! You can catch the season premiere of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" tonight on USA at 10 p.m. more ›

SFist Watches: Even More Monday Fall TV Premieres

Tonight's premieres are all on the CW, starting with "Everybody Hates Chris" at 8 p.m. Chris Rock himself will be making his first on-screen appearance on the show about his childhood, guest starring as a guidance counselor at his middle school. Which is to say, he will be starring as his own guidance counselor. Uh...we think. more ›

SFist Watches: Fall TV Premieres Tonight

The premiere offerings tonight are limited, with the 8 p.m. return of "Beauty and the Geek" on the CW being the only new show in the line-up. The show maintains its "hot girls, geeky guys" convention once again this season, but they will be adding one geeky girl and one hot guy to the "social experiment" this time around. That's right, this isn't a dating show, although there have been hook-ups in the past. Instead, the geeks try to expand the girls' minds, while the girls try to help the geeks up their game. Ha ha ha! Look how dumb the girls are! Ho ho ho! Look how socially inept the geeks are! Lather, and repeat. We have no idea if any of the geeks or beauties hail from the Bay Area, as their bios don't give out that info, but we hope so, because the reality TV locals pickings are slim this season! more ›

SFist Watches: Your Locals On Reality TV

Did we miss an episode? It seems like forever since we've talked "Survivor" and the fate of local contender Yau-Man. How is he doing, anyway? Previously, he survived another tribal council because of Rita's yammering. Will another annoying female be his saving grace? more ›

SFist Watches: TV Tonight

Of course, our number one viewing choice this evening is the season finale of "America's Next Top Model" at 8 p.m. on the CW. Will Melrose, the local girl-we-love-to-hate, become America's Next Forgotten Model? We're loathe to play into the whole youth-is-king attitude of the modeling industry, but we have to agree with the judges' assessment that Melrose does photograph a lot older than she is (although at age 23, she's older than most models who tend to break into the biz). We also have a hunch that Melrose is just using the show to boost her recognizability so she can launch her own fashion design business; she probably doesn't it as much as the other girls. more ›

SFist Watches: TV Premieres Tonight

Yes, we did cave in and buy a dual tuner TiVo this weekend and it is, perhaps, the best thing we have ever done in our entire lives. The feeling we got when we were programming the sucker, and we got the message telling us the Season Pass we were trying to set up wouldn't be recorded because it interfered with two other programs at the same time, and we realized we could just set that Season Pass on the TiVo in the bedroom--OH!--it was heavenly. more ›
