The hilarious Eugene Mirman and Jon Benjamin are hosting SF Sketchfest's "Fresh Faces of Comedy" show on Sunday night at Mezzanine that we can't wait to check out. There will also be a short film contest with Jon Lehr of TBS's 10 Items or Less (he was also Geico's Caveman, whom he looks nothing like, BTW), which had us chuckling aloud the other night. "Five finalists will have their grocery-store themed films showcased and the......

So, Beantown sorta flips outa few months back (perhaps rightfully so!) at little lite-brite signs depicting Aqua Teen Hunger Force characters flipping the general populace off. City grinds to a halt -- TBS, on behalf of "Adult Swim" -- pays a nice lump of dough -- $2 million. In San Francisco, the signs were posted too, evidently, but we didn't really seen to notice or care. Regardless, we get a consolation prize of $85,000....

We just looked at the SFist Watches we posted last Christmas and you know what? The TV offerings are basically the same this year! Darlene Love performing the best Christmas song ever, "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" on Letterman tonight? Check. Twenty-four hours of A Christmas Story on TBS starting on Christmas Eve? Check. It's a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve, (albeit on NBC and butchered by an hour's worth of commercial interruptions)? Check.......

There's no question that getting fired, canned, axed, rif'ed, or booted SUCKS. We were back at one of our favorite SF theaters, the Roxie, for the SF debut of Annabelle Gurwitch's Fired! at Docfest on Friday night. It turns out that there were so many eager sympathizers, a second show had to be added. We stood in line near Gurwitch, and Robert Reich, former Clinton Labor Secretary, who has a cameo in the film and......

'Twas the night before the night before Christmas, and all through the house, "Creature Comforts" was airing, and it included a few mouse....er...mice. OK. We promise never to attempt lame rhyming ever again. But we DID want to let you know that there's a "Creature Comforts" marathon on BBC America tonight, starting at 7:30 p.m. with the premiere of "Merry Christmas Everybody!" If you've ever seen Nick Park's Oscar-winning short "Creature Comforts," then you......

The most exciting thing on TV last night was the season finale of "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart." Which is to say, there was nothing exciting on TV last night. Tonight's a little better. First off, we're only a day away from Festivus. To help prepare you for those Feats of Strength and the Airing of Grievances, TBS will be running the "The Strike," the "Seinfeld" episode that started it all, tonight at 9 p.m.......

SFist contributor and virtual TV pundit Rain Jokinen offers her Bay-area-centric TV picks of the week For some people, Halloween is a great time to live in San Francisco. It's not a holiday that goes unnoticed, and entertainment is virtually guaranteed. For others, the traffic, the inability to get a cab, and the people (The people! THE PEOPLE!) is enough to drive a person indoors for the entire weekend. If that's the case for you,......
