It was about a year and a half ago when we interviewed a colorful local eccentric about his plans to rip off The Birds and then go to the moon. Since then, things have been kind of quiet; but imagine our delight when we got an email, late last night, notifying us that a trailer for the film is finally available. Which is pretty impressive, since filming hasn't started yet. The trailer is nothing less......

Well, that wasn't what we were hoping for. Yes, the Giants did indeed lose their first game of the big road trip, 8-6 to the Washington Nationals. We haven't seen a road trip start off so badly since a camping trip we took years ago in which on the first night of the trip, we hit a deer (true story. The deer, luckily, was only dazed). This was the scene in front of the Metreon today at 10 a.m., for the 11:10 a.m. show of Superman Returns. As we had just finished gnashing our teeth over last night's texted invitation to a 10:30 p.m. private screening that we didn't recieve until 10:28 (thanks for ruining our life AGAIN, Cingular), we were tempted to join them, but the lure of Citizen Cupcake coffee (and our caffeine addict's headache) was just too strong.......

Remember that totally awesome scene in Return of the King where the Witch King was leaving Cirith Ungol with the Orc army and Frodo started freaking out and then that big shaft of light shot out of the building as the people of Minas Tirith looked on with a dread that something great and terrible was coming?
