Ex-Teacher Accused of Having Steamy, Sapphic Affair with Student

Dipping her toes into the pool of barely-legal love that dare not speak its name, an ex-teacher at a Christian prep school in Sunnyvale was arrested on statutory rape charges. Word has it that Abigail Anne Holloway, 33, had a secret love affair going on with her 13-year-old student, which happened eight years ago, according to San Jose Mercury News. It goes without saying, but Holloway taught physical education while trolling at Kings Academy. Of course. Anybody who may have info on this case, or thinks that they were a victim too, is asked to call Detective Kirk Kim at 408-730-7120.

On Dec. 29, U.S. Navy reservist/attorney/councilman Otto Lee, 41, will start a trepidatious, sourjourn deployment in Iraq. The Sunnyvale representative and father of two received his deployment orders three weeks ago, which means the Lee family has had to put Christmas on pause until his return. Lee is a UC-Berkeley graduate (with degrees in chemical and nuclear engineering) and holds a law degree from UC Hastings. He has been with the Sunnyvale City Council for five years. We wish him a safe return.

It looks like Sunnyvale-based Yahoo plans on rejecting the $44.6 billion rose Microsoft offered it earlier this month. A move that would have merged the two tech giants won't happen, it seems, and we were so sure this relationship would've worked out swimmingly. Sniff.

Weep no more, my lady. After handing over an apology to the sobbing mother of a Chinese journalist that they helped imprison, Yahoo now must hand over an undisclosed amount to the scribes. Wang Xiaoning and Shi Tao, the latter a former journalist at Contemporary Business News, will receive a hefty, unknown amount from Yahoo, Inc. The Chinese journalists sued Yahoo, blaming them for their imprisonment and torture by Chinese government officials. "According to...

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Tom Lantos threw down some serious shade today. "While technologically and financially you are giants, morally you are pygmies," he cried, shaming two senior Yahoo officials. Why? Because the Sunnyvale company named names, handing over private information about Chinese journalist Shi Tao's online pro-democracy action to country officials. (Or, as the New York Times so eloquently put it, their "complicity with an oppressive communist regime." Oh snap.) This landed...

According Eric Thomas from ABC 7, who went into mighty graphic detail about what happened, a suspect was arrested today for the kidnapping and rape of a 17-year-old Palo Alto teen. A press conference is scheduled at noon (now!), where even more details, names will surely unfold. This past Wednesday a teen was kidnapped in Palo Alto, taken to Sunnyvale (on the 500 block of Fair Oaks Avenue), and then sexually assaulted. She survived...
