Sunday Streets met with a Rock the Bike event at Ocean Beach on Sunday. Some sort of amplifier was attached to bikes, then said listening device was powered by the magic of pedal power. Many revelers from Sunday Streets (an event that's quickly turning into more of a cycling event, rather than a pedestrian-friendly one) stopped by to enjoy the music and dancing
Sunday Streets Comes to Bayview
Bayview business owners offered Mother's Day specials and saw visitors from other neighborhoods rolling in on bikes, skates and scooters. Watch out for the next two Sunday Streets events in the Mission on June 7th and July 17th, which will undoubtedly be rowdier affairs.
Sunday Streets Starts This Sunday
This Sunday will kick off six Sundays of car-free Sunday Streets, which will take place in various parts of the city. This Sunday's route will extend along the waterfront from South Beach Park to Aquatic Park, and the event goes from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. There were two successful Sunday Streets last year, which drew over 15,000 people each weekend.
