--There were more bikes than cars on Market Street today for Bike To Work Day. Soon we will realize our dream where every car driver is assigned an individual biker to yell at them with a camera in hand. --Better to be biking to work than on MUNI -- as some of you reported to us, there was a massive meltdown in the tunnel this morning when the computer system crashed. Before we get into the Jennifer Siebel links of the day, we'd like to put a theory out there. Remember Chron writer C.W. Nevius's theory that men were upset about Newsom's behavior with Ruby Rippey-Tourk because it violated the man code? (which is, in short, don't mess around with a friend's woman.) We read Steven Jones' article in this week's Bay Guardian over the handbill debate in the Mission with interest and not just because it brings up a great debate or because of the usual Bay Guardian hilarity, but because as we were walking around Valencia Street, we noticed that there was nary a flier to be found. Not a call for ending U.S. Imperialism, not a bill for some DJ we've never heard of, nor an announcement for a Trotsky Teach-In. What we saw as we were walking around were completely bare streetlights and unpostered walls. ...

Last week's winner, the Bay Guardian. The theme of the Local News section is "Editor's note: Alix Rosenthal [District 8 candidate] is the domestic partner of Guardian city editor Steven T. Jones. Jones did not participate in the assigning, writing, or editing of this story," as the Guardian weighs in on both the Castro Halloween fight and an update on the Pendulum. Also, Chris Daly can't get any documents under the sunshine laws either. Why......
