Revel in it Bay Area NBA fans: this year the Western Conference playoffs mean something, because for the first time in 13 years, the hometown Warriors are part of the party.
So let's take a quick drive down the lane and see what the Warriors are going to have to deal with as they knife their way to the Finals. (Yeah, we know, but just roll with the sentiment. It's been 13 years and there's an abundance of pent-up enthusiasm to be dissipated.)

Suns 113, Warriors 110- And so endeth the Warriors six game winning streak and five game home winning streak. All this to the Suns, a run-n-gun basketball team that we have a feeling have influenced Mully and Nellie more than you'd like to know. High scoring basketball, catch it. The game was close, though, as the Suns won on a last second three pointer from former Santa Clara grad, Steve Nash. Monta Ellis led the way with 31 points for the Warriors....

For the next two weeks Kezar Pavilion will play host to the San Francisco ProCity championship tournament. The ProCity league is a summer developmental league for both professional and amateur players from the Bay Area to hone their skills and raise their profile amongst scouts. The league has featured hometown heroes such as Gary Payton, Jason Kidd, Tim Hardaway, Robert Parrish, Steve Nash and one of SFist's favorite basketball personalities Kurt Rambis, among other accomplished NBA and international stars. It's a great chance for local players to show off in front of the friends and family they grew up with, and to play the kind of exciting, entertaining basketball that there just isn't enough of in the big show anymore.
