State Senator Leland Yee introduced a bill in the State Legislature this morning that, if passed, would see traffic fines double for violations occurring along the deadly strip of San Francisco road known as 19th Avenue. When we last left the Leno vs. Migden contest, there was much gnashing of the teeth over these two progessive titans matching up. As SFist Rita put it, What Would the Progressives Do? Should they side with Leno or with Migden? It's like when two really good friends have a party at the same time and one guy has a keg of Meisterbrau and another of Sierra. You want to drink the Sierra, but if you go to that party, would your other friend get pissed at you? So, to make sure the campaign didn't get too nasty a peacetreaty of such was signed with both Leno and Migden pledging to be all cute and cuddly during the campaign. But then, like manna from heaven, we get word that after a few days in D.C. schmoozing with other Governors and enjoying the fact that the Chinese control our ports and not a bunch of A-rabs, we discover that from there, Arnie is off to Columbus for the Arnold Fitness Expo and Arnold Classic. And kicking things off will be a pay-per-view Mixed Martial Arts Championship, the Gracie Fighting Championships actually, one that will be have as it's master of ceremonies our Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. If you're like us, you like nothing better than cruising down the 101 in your tricked out Hummer while watching a little Bonfire of the Panties or Assablanca. Thanks to the good ole California State Legislature, we can keep on doing it. This week, the legislature defeated a bill by Assemblyman John Benoit (R-Palm Desert) that would have made it illegal to be watching some porn from the comfort of your car. The problem with watching porn in your car? Do we even need to say? Yep, just imagine you and the kiddies are coming back from their soccer match and pass one of those big cars that have TV screens in the back seat. The kids look over at what's being watched and well, the next thing you know, you're telling the kids about how sometimes when mommy, daddy, the neighbor, and the pizza deliveryman love each other, sometimes they do things to each other to show them how much they love each other. ...
