After news came out that Gavin gave a proclamation for a gay porn studio, it was soon revealed that apparently nobody was paying attention to the city's process of issuing proclamations. So SFist did some digging around and discovered that in the past few years, we have issued these proclamations:

SFIFF: Pursuit of Equality World Premiere
When we heard that Geoff Callan and Mike Shaw's project, "Pursuit of Equality," a documentary about San Francisco's 'Winter of Love,' was premiering at the San Francisco International, we were happy, as we've been waiting for months since the film's trailer went online (under the working title "Rush to the Civil Altar"). When we got the press release about the red carpet treatment for the film's stars, we figured there would be the added bonus of a media circus! Yay! Pushy broadcast reporters! Writers from New York City! Mabel Teng! So SFist put on our best (read: only) tweed jacket, fired up 'Lil SFist and headed down to the Castro Theater. After the jump: gays, Gavin and guffaw inducing gaffes.
SFist Cares
After sitting around this morning nursing hangovers, wounded egos and sad souls, we realized that life must go on and for many people in the area life is already tough and will only get tougher. So SFist is going to bring you a weekly column highlighting local charities or non-profit organizations looking to make everyone's lives and the places we live just a little bit better. You can be angry and hate the government just consider also working with, donating to or generally supporting some local organizations that can use our help. We're not above guilting you into it. Getting agitated every four years and yelling at all your friends, who by the way agree with you and wish you'd stop already, is played out. Working every day to make the world a better place is sexy. And who doesn't want to be sexy?
SFist Watches: TV This Week
It looks like Indian summer may be over for good what with the wind and the rain and the whining about the wind and the rain. So SFist recommends that you stay indoors and enjoy some of San Francisco's local landmarks on the small screen.
SFist Reads
SFist says that if you don't get books from our local bookstores or use the reserve system from the San Francisco Public Library, you should rethink many of your life choices. But that's just us.
Absentee-Minded Printer in the East Bay
Our EssEffist Emeryville correspondent received, unsolicited, an Alameda County permanent absentee voter application in the mail yesterday and noticed that it was addressed in a bizarre order: middle-first-last. The county says it's a simple mistake. We sure hope so.
