The last remaining captured member of the Symbionese Liberation Army, James Kilgore, was released from prison yesterday on parole for a federal explosives and passport fraud charge. He evaded capture longer than any of the other SLA members, and was finally extradited from South Africa in 2002. Kilgore is the last to be released of the gang who kidnapped Patty Hearst, committed a deadly robbery at the Crocker National Bank in Carmichael, California in 1975, where bank customer Myrna Opsahl was murdered. Most recently, cohort Sara Jane Olsen was released from prison on March 17th. Ex-Symbionese Liberation Army member Sara Jane Olson (AKA Kathleen Soliah) was released from prison today. Olson, the soccer mom who was arrested in 1999, was pinched for a 1975 police car bombing plot outside an IHOP in Los Angeles and the shooting death of a customer in the midst of a bank robbery in Northern California. According to reports, Olson will be "allowed to server her parole in Minnesota, where her family lives, instead of being forced to stay in California." more ›
