-- Completely Hollywood (abridged): The Reduced Shakespeare Company's latest stage play skewers "Tinseltown's most lauded stars and starlets" ranging from the silent era to today's most beloved and pretentious independent films. The curtain goes up at 8 p.m. at Marines Memorial Theater; $45-60.

-- Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars (1973): David Bowie's swan song as Mr. or Miss Stardust screens tonight at 7:15 p.m. and 9:15 at the the Red Vic.

-- Lady Genius, Fat Acrobats, Coconut: Come for the indie rock and comedy. Stay for Utah's tasty Shepherd's Pie. (Did we already say that? How sad. Oh well, it deserves repetition, because it's just that good.) Music starts at 9 p.m. at Hotel Utah Saloon; $6.

-- Full Contact Comedy: Moshe Kasher, Mark Silverman, Mike Spiegelman, Chris Garcia, Jay Starr, and Kurt Weitzmann throw down the stand-up hilarity starting at 9 p.m. at 12 Galaxies; $8.

SFist Contest: An Evening of a Thousand Scowls

This will be the fifth year Eggers and his peeps have put this show on and Dave promises that unlike previous years, this year will be a "a pretty sordid affair" as a lot of the comics on performing are "blue." As opposed to last year’s show which featured Sarah Silverman. She's always pretty clean.

The show will be Saturday, March 31st at the Nob Hill Masonic Center. We have a pair of tickets to give away to the event and the deadline for entrering the contest will be March 26th

Todd Barry Back in San Francisco

Friend of the 'ists Todd Barry is back for another stand up stint here in SF as part of a west coast tour. Last time we saw the show, we fell in love with his free form style, audience-participation antics and snotty mien (it's a schtick, people, he's actually quite nice). He'll be performing with Mississippi native and southland resident Tig Notaro, who's officially endorsed by SFist comedy crush Sarah Silverman, so we're going to go out on a limb and see she's funny (judge for yourself and watch a clip [Windows Media]).

The shows are at the Punchline starting tonight at 8pm and running through Saturday. You can buy tickets online for $10 (plus evil TicketMaster handling fees), and the club has a two drink minimum. You may well catch this SFist laughing so hard they lose control of their bladder.

Comedy Equals Time Plus Haircuts

Tomorrow night, Bell hosts his second show, "The Kamau Bell Gets a Haircut Show". We don’t know for sure, but maybe this will mean that part of the act is him getting a haircut. Or maybe not. Either way, guests include Zoe (9 year old winner of the "Tourettes Without Regrets" poetry slam), Dwayne Kennedy and John Hoogasian (Comedy Central), Mark Silverman (Dr. Demento!) and others. One of those others is Keith Knight, the creator of the K Chronicles, a cartoon SFist has loved since way back in the day.

Show is tomorrow night, 8:30 at the Purple Onion

Ha Ha Giggle Giggle!

SFist is always looking for an excuse to laugh. This being so, we wonder why we don't go to comedy clubs very much! Well, Sarah Silverman is the perfect reason to stop by the Punch Line this Thursday through Saturday. We love Sarah's willingness to make jokes about things others shy away from. She has made her way through the male-dominated world of stand-up with her biting and fearless wit. She most recently appeared as Jack Black's ~~girlfriend~~ roommate's girlfriend in School of Rock.
