We shamelessly stole today's photo of the day from SF Metblogs. It was reportedly taken at the Ferry Building's farmers market. And while we can imagine such a gruesome display occurring in more exotic parts of the city, we always thought this kind of scene was better hidden at downtown's farmers market. Tsk, tsk. Shameful. Well, whaddya know. No sooner did we lavish praise upon the SF County Transportation Authority than Nat Ford, head of Muni, decided that he might be interested in committing a hostile takeover of the SFCTA... thereby making the TA as flawless as Muni. Good idea! If our agency was melting down, and there was another one making us look bad, we might want to buy it and run it into the ground, too! (That's......

As reported by local crime blog SF Metblogs, we've been seeing an awful lot of violent crime lately. And, as their first commenter points out, it's the brown people who are to blame. Well, enough is enough -- we can't go on. We can't go on no more. No. Only press conferences, snappy slogans, and celebrity do-gooding can save us now! From a recent press release: Rev. Jackson and the Rainbow PUSH Coalition plans......

Hey, the new MUNI T Third line is finally open! That's the new light rail route that goes (.gif) from Castro Station down Third Street, through Dogpatch, down the Bayview, past Monster Park, and all the way to Sunnydale Avenue. We decided to spend our day off today checking it out. The T-Third is running in beta from now until April 1-- it's only running on weekends and every twenty minutes (though we waited about......

We're pretty unhappy that a couple of yayhoos managed to ruin what looked like a very nice time yesterday in the Castro. So are a lot of people -- all the local blog servers were whirring away processing everyone's comments on the story. You guys did us proud with your thoughtful conversations about what the Castro and the city's next steps should be (and we appreciate how nice you guys were about that weird spam......

Monochrom's Johannes has been guest posting over at SF Metblogs -- check it out! Edward Champion, AKA Dr. Mabuse, let's you literary types know that......

We have to be transparent about such things, so we'd just like to let our readers know that SFist has been purchased by SF Metblogs, who in turn have been purchased by Yahoo. What does this mean to you? Absolutely nothing. We'll still bring you the eight to ten or more posts everyday on issues that are important to folks in the San Francisco Bay Area. Why did we sell out, do you ask?......
