In an effort to tame the trolls, SFGate's site (as well as a few others like ThinkProgress) use software from an outside company that implements a unique "block user" function. This feature blocks all comments made by a user from view by anyone but themselves (upon login). That is to say, whenever the quasi-banned user logs in to the site, they see their comments intact; but to everyone else, the offending comment is simply......

Since we barely digest our own food, much less eat in public for fear people might find us shoveling heaps of it into our mouths, maybe you, dear readers, can help this rookie San Franciscan find a place to take the parents out? He or she is looking for a tasty, semi-semi-formal, non-Stinking Rose-y, yet inexpensive Italian place, and we can't seem to be of any help. First the heartwarming - George Mark Children’s House and UCSF Children’s Hospital present a sneak preview screening of the live-action remake of Charlotte's Web at the Loews Metreon Theater (4th and Mission). Hell, we'd even voted K-Fed out of our lives! And then this?! Our capable and attractive SFist Editor Jon has been all over this story like Sara......

After an extended stay in Seattle that proved in most ways a trip two years into The City's fashion past but thankfully in a few ways a look to the future, we returned to SF with a thirst for Fashion, with that sexy capital "F" (featuring the thinnest of perpendicular lines). Mere hours after landing in Oakland on San Francisco Halloween Saturday we found a Barneys New York tux at our fave, Thrift Town, for thirty bucks. Quelle joyeux! Just what we were looking for as we set out to cameo as Hitchcock in a Recommend this!

SFist Editor Emeritus Cheshire tipped us off to a site he helped put together that helps you make your own jukebox label. It's pretty cool, actually, in the same way those Church Generator Signs things are cool. So, inspired, we made up our dream jukebox selection, which you can see to your right. Man, we loved Creed back in the day. ...
