The murder of Tony Bologna and his two sons (allegedly) at the hands of MS-13 hang member Edwin Ramos, 21, was initially reported as an incident of road rage. But? It tuns out it was, in fact, a case of mistaken identity. See, Ramos assumed the car was filled with rival gang members because "the people in the car were similar to Hispanic males." Scary. Also, MS-134 should consider an eye exam and IQ test......

Despite the God-like powers of Mayor Gavin Newsom's bedroom eyes, large hands, and gravelly voice that managed to woo Terry Childs to handover the passwords to City Hall's system, administrators are still having trouble accessing some parts of the network, or so says Network World. Admins, it seems, are "still locked out of the city's VoIP system and LANs within the Sheriff's Department and the Recreation & Park Department." Zoinks. Also, Terry Childs, who......

With a whole lot of charm and little bit of pluck, Mayor Gavin Newsom managed to get the much-needed passwords from former IT nerd Terry Childs during a jailhouse visit last night. If you recall, Childs, City Hall's former network administrator , has been incarcerated since July 13 after failing to handover the correct security codes to his bosses after getting the boot. Newsom, it seems, had a secret meeting with Child last night, one......

Terry Childs, 43, City Hall's computer network administrator, was arrested and charged with four counts of computer tampering this past weekend. Why? Well, according to the Chronicle, he "tampered with the city's new FiberWAN (Wide Area Network), where records such as officials' e-mails, city payroll files, confidential law enforcement documents and jail inmates' bookings are stored." That is to say, he created his eyes only a master password for the entire network. And after his......

Carlos Sousa Jr.'s autopsy report has just been released to the public. According to ABC 7's Dan Noyes, the San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office's report details the massive (and pretty graphic) injures Sousa suffered from Tatiana the tiger on Christmas Day 2007 at the San Francisco Zoo after a tiger escaped from her grotto. The report confirms the cause of death: “Blunt force injuries of the head and neck (predatory cat bite(s)).” The evidence......

We just got word that maybe, perhaps, probably a flash mob-ish type of event is happening at SF MOMA tomorrow at noon. Check it: hey I wanted to let you know that my friend [name removed to protect dancer] is doing a modern ballet duet on friday at noon in the lobby of MOMA. It is kind of a guerilla performance - no approval from the museum, no music, no lighting - just two......

Pretty sneaky, Gavin. The torch, as of 2 p.m., is over at Pine and Van Ness. The run is taking place over there now. Only security people are there and lucky pedestrians get to see it in action. Lots of Bay Quacker boat/buses near the flame. Confusion blanketing the city today. This torch route is being made up as it goes along. Very San Francisco. Heh. The San Francisco Zoo announced today that Leanne, the 230-pound Sumatran tiger, is now caring for three newborn cubs. The SF Zoo, which came under scrutiny after last year's tiger-related mauling death of 17-year-old Carlos Sousa Jr., says that this is the first birth of Sumatran tiger for the zoo since 1956. It turns out Leanne had three of the cubs over a week ago, but kept them accidentally hidden from view of zoo......

Yesterday we mentioned the delightful work trip/vacation San Francisco supervisor Bevan Dufty and city treasurer Jose Cisneros took to Australia for Sydney's Gay Mardi Gras. Trannyshack founder Heklina was there, too. And many readers fretted about whether or not city tax dollars went to pay for this trip down under -- an excursion, it should be mentioned, that will reportedly bring in much-needed tourist dollars to SF. Anyway, according to Dufty's office: No San......

The Library Tower (AKA the U.S. Bank Tower) in Los Angeles could soon be the second tallest building west of the Mississippi thanks to San Francisco's proposed Transbay Terminal. While the Library Tower, located in downtown Los Angeles, stands at an alluring 1,018-feet tall, the Transbay Terminal is primed to win the measuring contest at 1,200-feet. You know, we're just saying. Not to brag or anything. Anyway, our tallest skyscrapers so far are as......

You know how Mayor Gavin Newsom is supposed to make a special guest appearance at the Board of Supervisors meeting? At least once a month? To listen to their complaints, demonstrate that he's taking an active interest in neighborhood politics, powder the Supes' tender bottoms, and such? Imagine how surprised we were when, while drowning our sorrows drinking at Zeitgeist this past Saturday, we were informed that Quentin Tarantino was amidst our biker bar presence. Yes, the Royale with Cheese himself was there, taking up a corner of the bar, sweating and drinking away the night. It looks like Mayor Gavin Newsom will take a stab at running for Governor of California in 2010. In addition to the gaggle of Democratic hopefuls looking to succeed Gov. Schwarzenegger after his reign comes to an end -- which include former governor Jerry Brown, former state controller Steve Westley, and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, just to name a few -- San Francisco's very own mayor wants the title as well. And seeing......
