Police believe that a Santa Rosa man, who recently stabbed himself with a homemade spear just seconds before the fuzz burst through his front door early Sunday morning, is possibly connected to last Thursday's carjacking and rape incident involving a 29-year-old mother. According to the Gate, "Aristotle Quadra, 30, faces charges of carjacking, kidnapping, sexual assault and attempted murder. He is being held at a Santa Rosa hospital while being treated for self-inflicted stab......

Wasn't "wardrobe-malfunction" a runner-up for Word (Phrase?) of the Year a few years back? (We have neither the energy nor patience to look for it. We're in the midst of a Walgreens discount holiday candy comedown, and it's painful. Seriously.) Anyway, at the risk of sounding like SNL's "Weekend Update" circa 2005, we present to you a couple of mannequins who look like they were either interrupted in the middle of a sexual assault,......

Pittsburg police -- you know, that place at the end-of-the-line BART station that also happens to be a city -- released a composite sketch of the man suspected of abducting and sexually assaulting two people in Pittsburg last Saturday morning. The man reportedly attacked a 19-year-old disabled woman and an 11-year-old girl. CBS 5 reports that "no new attacks have been reported since Saturday and the case doesn't seem to match any other sexual......

Oh Jesus H. Christ, this is an upsetting story. We caught wind of this today on SF Weekly's The Snitch We're (not at all) surprised that major local media outlets haven't reported on this (at least as far as we know.) On November 10 a lady was raped in Glen Park -- aided by his female friend who robbed her moments prior to his attack -- only to be raped again by the same......

According Eric Thomas from ABC 7, who went into mighty graphic detail about what happened, a suspect was arrested today for the kidnapping and rape of a 17-year-old Palo Alto teen. A press conference is scheduled at noon (now!), where even more details, names will surely unfold. This past Wednesday a teen was kidnapped in Palo Alto, taken to Sunnyvale (on the 500 block of Fair Oaks Avenue), and then sexually assaulted. She survived......

A Palo Alto high school girl survived a kidnapping and sexual assault yesterday afternoon, an ordeal that went on for 90 minutes. At 3 p.m. yesterday, a teen was on the "500 block of Arastradero Road near El Camino Real...near her home, when a man accosted her from behind, hit her in the face several times and dragged her into his car," according to Palo Alto police officer Dan Ryan. The city of Palo......

Wow, sorry all the news we're posting today is such a downer, but San Jose is reeling from the news of the brutal sexual assault and murder of Sany San, a recent Cambodian immigrant who had survived the Khmer Rouge. Last Sunday, San had walked a mile from her home in East San Jose at 6 a.m. to catch the bus to her job as a janitor at a doughnut shop in Palo Alto when......

Whoops, sorry we're so late getting this post up -- we lost our notes and tore up the house before resigning ourselves to the idea that somewhere, someone is going to find a notebook with "the lighter side of rape" scrawled across the first page. That comment refers to Give Piece of Ass a Chance, a new Bruce LaBruce short that preceeded Starrbooty. It's a speculative spoofing of the Patty Hearst abduction that asks......

At least one group is thought to be a gang. Gavin and Bevan met......

They really do have different problems from the rest of us up in Marin! The Fairfax police have their hands full with complaints about a guard dog taking his job protecting his family's goats (four cashmere, one dairy) a little too seriously. Five neighbors have complained about herding dog Percy's loud barking, which is supposed to drive away coyotes but instead brings on the police instead. Well, we suppose that's one way to keep the......

Traffic on southbound 880 was backed up for five hours yesterday after a CHP officer shot and killed a delusional man in Fremont. The 30-something year old man was being taken to the hospital by his parents because of his suicidal behavior, when he jumped out of the moving car and rolled into a ditch on the side of the road. His parents pulled over and were attempting to coax him back in the car when the CHP officer showed up. The man, who weighed about 230 pounds, then began grunting at and lunging at the officer, who first pepper-sprayed him, then shot him when he didn't stop. Traffic backed up for 10 miles, all the way to San Leandro.
More anarchist fallout -- SF police chief Heather Fong is personally reviewing all the 911 and radio tapes from last month's Black Block G8 protest fiasco, where a cop ended up with a fractured skull. The tapes show a number of frantic Mission residents reporting rocks being thrown into cars and a dispatcher that kept getting 22nd and 25th Street mixed up. Poor Officer Shields -- the tapes show that he was so overwhelmed and alone, he had to call in his own broken skull to HQ.
And eeps, the Oakland PD is investigating a mysterious kidnapping, attack, and sexual assault on an Oakland girl, who was left for dead on a cul de sac in a Hayward neighborhood. The 16-year-old girl, who was drifting in and out of consciousness, reported that she had been stabbed in the heart. ...

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, which is sort of a dreary topic but an important one. San Francisco Women Against Rape is one of the local resources women (and those who love them) can take advantage of when dealing with a rape or sexual assault situation. They've been around for more than 30 years and are now a fully staffed organization offering help 24 hours a day. We encourage you to do the......
