While the name of this column is "SFist Reads", we have to ask: has anyone used the SFPL's online reserve system to reserve DVDs? We're just not as Netflixy as we used to be, and we're starting to wonder if the library might be a good substitute. Let us know your experiences in the comments!

Authors Go On Tour - Why Can't You?
SFist Eve already gave you the scoop on one literary happening and then our inbox beeped to let us know that we got an email from Kepler's (snappy new site design there) listing their April author events. They're kicking off a travel series and its killing us! We want to go somewhere (not that we don't love SF, oh no). Wah! Since our travel budget is so limited we're going to settle for visiting local bookstores and checking out their free author events.
SFist Reads
We totally slacked over the holidays, and made not a dent in our checked-out online reserves. We did get some great books from our fine local independent bookstores for Christmas, but we must confess that we've barely cracked them open. Only one SFist seems to be reading these days...
