Attrition has been one of the Warriors' best pickups this offeseason. While the Warriors have taken some baby steps forward, many of the Western Conference rivals have been moving in the opposite direction.
When looking at the Warriors chances to make the playoffs this year, it runs from the bottom up.
-So everyone is talking about what's up with the Barry. Not only has he not been signed yet, but he rolled into the winter meetings with an entourage in tow looking for a job. We get a kick out of the idea of seeing Barry standing outside some hotel handing out resumes to any GM who walks by. The War-bloons have basically been treading water for the last couple of months, and like a small-time sucker playing conservative bets at the $5 blackjack tables in Reno, the house odds are starting to take their toll. Yet as their won-loss record sinks further into the red and the playoff dream shrivels up like Adonal Foyle's points per game average, Head Veep Chris Mullett can only watch as opportunities like the NBA trading deadline slip past like Brad Miller blowing by Troy Murphy unabated to the hoop.
Y'uh-oh. With the season hanging by a thread, the War-rips were hoping to come out of their recent six-day break with some piss and vinegar, but instead, all they got was a little salty wine.
On Wednesday, the War-terloos were worn down and overmatched by the Miami Humidity, losing at home 110-96. Last night, they sleepwalked through their game with the Phoenix Sunburn like it was a preseason scrimmage, losing at Phoenix 112-99 and dropping below .500 for the first time all season. At one point during the Suns game, the War-bricks were 3-18 from the three-point line; they could muster no offensive energy or discipline at all in the second half. It was one of their more lackluster performances of the season.

Well, he wasn't wearing a t-shirt to promote his new rap album, but, like Ron Artest, Chris Daly ain't sorry. Well, that's not entirely fair. At yesterday's unprecendented censure motion hearings before the San Francisco Board of Supes, Daly, before the session began, offered a "flat-out, heartfelt" apology to Michaela Alioto-Pier in response to her claims that he had loomed over her (Alioto-Pier is in a wheelchair) and made her feel threatened. However, Daly declined to apologize to the public for telling them where to get off (at the stop marked "F") at the contentious land use committee meeting two weeks ago.
